In conversation with… Dan White

We’re excited to be joined by Dan White of Disability Rights UK (DR UK) on Wednesday 12th March 2025, 1-2.30pm GMT.

Dan White is policy and campaigns officer at Disability Rights UK (DR UK), and author of four children’s books around inclusive themes. He is a carer with and for his daughter, and an Ambassador for the Campaign for Disability Awareness and Inclusive Minds. He has published a collection of poems dealing with mental health, disability and politics, as well as a comic book featuring five disabled superheroes.

In this ‘Disability & Climate: In Conversation With’ session, Dan will be sharing the work of DR UK, where they are leading a coalition of global disability climate activists to respond to the climate crisis. They have been working with the thinktank, NPC, to review key evidence for the impacts of the climate and nature crises, and environmental policy, on older people and disabled people. They have also been liaising with Greenpeace on essential plastics for disabled people that must be exempt from any global ban in the Global Plastics Treaty. You can find out more about their ongoing work in this area online: https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/climate-change
